Day 24

Things are really starting to get easier and become a bit more natural. I no longer feel silly weighing my food though I have no idea how this would work when I have to travel for work.

I’m thinking of reducing the frequency of these TeamRH update posts down to once a week when I hit the 4 week mark. They’ve done the job I needed at keeping me on track but I now want to branch out into writing about my games too….

Plus I feel they’re getting shorter and lacking less content each day!!

Day 23

Despite this being categorised as a Team RH post (because it’s my daily update post) I don’t actually have too much to report!

Everything is feeling really good and since starting this I’ve definitely had better mental health, which is probably more related to the exercise than the eating.

I’m not finding it hard to stick to my food goals on most days, though I’m still generally terrible at the fibre and protein goals.

My steps are maybe not getting as much attention as they should and I think I could start to struggle once I get to 4,000. I’m already having to check regularly and make sure I try to get to certain points by lunch. But then I wonder if maybe that’s the point. Regularly spaced exercise may be more long term achievable than a load of steps in one go.

I’ve 200 left to do today so I’m going to hop to it!

Day 22

Today went super fast with being back at work and having a family quiz night. It also meant I had to really push to get those steps.

I’m proud of making sure I reached my goal, as odd a feeling that is. I also met my fibre goal and got half way on my protein so all-in-all a good day!

Day 19

Today wasn’t a good food day at all. If I had my old allowance it would be fine but those extra 200 seem to be the difference some days!

I did my exercise though and I can still see improvements which I’m super happy about.

At the moment, days seem to be passing so quickly. Almost too quickly. I’ve lost track of where we are in lockdown and this is almost becoming normal.

Along with general household jobs I played a lot of Planet Zoo and Paths of Exile – my new found “clicky clicky” game.

I still have a fair few steps left to do though so I’m going to put on some TV and step away!

Day 18

I feel as though the weighing in every day and calorie tracking is starting to become more natural. I actually thought I might’ve forgot to step on the scales today because I no longer pay attention to the daily number!

The mindset of weekly trends gathered via daily data is beginning to make sense and even when I have what feels like a “fat day” by weekly trend doesnt support it (even if the daily number might). I can see how people could become obsessed with the daily number though and I’m thankful I am able forget about it.

It was the start of a 4-day weekend today. I met my daily steps and topped off my water thanks to a bit of gardening while the weather was still nice.

I noticed I had my TeamRH app still set to 10,000 daily steps which was giving me the wrong food target. I lowered that to 5,000 as that’s closest to my current step rate and I’ll increase it again when 10,000 is more within range.

All in all, today was a happy day and I’m sure Planet Zoo had some part to play in that!

Day 10

Well, I didn’t come close to hitting my targets today.

I went over on my food, but that’s okay because I was under yesterday. I only got half way with my water and I didnt even get half way to my step goal… I did manage to hit my protein goal though with the help of some steak!

It was a weird day that started with working at 7:30 to prep for an 8:00 call. Then, before I knew it, it was lunch time. Then the end of the work day!

I did get to sort a lot of time playing Final Fantasy X and The Sims 4 so I enjoyed myself. Now to read The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson for a bit before bed!

Day 9

It all went a little better today. I did my step goal, my weight work out, and met the water goal too.

I still didn’t do very well with protein or fibre and some days I struggle to meet my food target.

Bit my bit I feel as though I’m getting there. Each strength workout is feeling better than the last and my weight is dropping even if that isnt my main motivation.

Day 6

I still ache today from my workout yesterday. It’s a better kind of ache than after my first workout so I feel as though there seems to be some improvement.

I’m doing okay with my general food targets but still falling short on both protein and fiber. I’m not sure I can do much more during lockdown but afterwards I’ll definitely look into how to hit those targets!

Day 5

Today I had my second workout.

It went a lot better than the first one and, although I ache, I feel as though I had a better workout because of it. I managed to keep my heart rate high throughout and performed the moves with better form.

Everything else is going okay too. I got 3/4 to both my protein goal and my fibre goal. I’ve also managed over my daily goal of 2,000 steps a day since starting this.

Day 4

Not too much to report today.

Still aching from my workout, still weighing in daily, still tracking my food (and I still suck at hitting my fibre and protein goals.

I’m debating looking at some protein bars to help me hit my goal as I don’t really know how else to add protein to my diet. I could also try more nuts for snacks but I’m not really a fan of nuts aside from peanut and pistachio (and pistachio nuts are not the cheapest!)

If anyone does stumble across my natterings, any protein bar recommendations?
